MIA

We thought we were smart to hunker down here in California to avoid the usually frigid northeast, but ironically they have had a surprisingly mild winter (so far) while I've been unable to warm up since arriving in the golden state. This did brighten me up the other day though:

With this year-long, soul-searching, cross-country journey from Seattle, Washington to Florida and a few weeks in Belize, coming to an end I actually look forward to settling into a routine once again. I think I've finally cured my wanderlust for many years to come. Besides, I miss my stuff, I'll admit it. Especially my sewing machine. So in the remaining days I'm just playing around while contemplating some new ideas.

keeping my skills up

I'm really excited about the coming changes in the near and far future. In the short term look for changes in my Murmur Fremo shop with the addition of new items! Yay!

bon voyage!

Summer's over. Time to move on before the snow begins. On our way here:

Guess there are worse ways to spend the winter

But before we leave there are new pins in the shop:

I also want to give an overdue HUGE thank you to Vixie and her blog, Matin Lapin. How could one miss with a name like Morning Rabbit? I have major blog envy. If only I could be half as witty and entertaining! Anyways, she posted a wonderful interview about Murmur Fremo. But don't check it out just for the interview, but because her blog is so much fun. Thanks again, Vixie!

Blue Skies Ahead

This was my view as I flew to California last week.

My Aunt brought some Belizian fruitcake with her from New York. Not like American fruit cake (thank goodness); there's no neon green and red candied 'fruit' (I question that the 'fruit' is actually organic in nature).

yum!
This cake is exactly how I remembered: incredibly dense and moist; dark brown, almost black in color; soaked in so much wine one could get drunk.

Upon my return. New project:
naked! ready to be clothed (well, one anyways)!

The Calm Before the Storm

Post rare east coast earthquake (this was just a hiccup compared to the tremblers I've experienced on the west coast), it all seems so peaceful right now. The water is still and the sky bright and sunny. It's strange to think that without our advancement in atmospheric studies we wouldn't even know there was a behemoth of a storm on its way.

deceptively calm
